Real Madrid accept they are losing the battle to secure Spanish 24 year old goalkeeper David De Gea’s transfer from Manchester United this summer, according to Marca.

The Spanish giants have grown frustrated by United’s reluctance to do business and are now prepared to wait another year when the stopper can join them on a free transfer.

The Red Devils have yet to receive an official bid from Real Madrid, though the indications are that they are prepared to offer around £15m for the Spaniard – a fee that is deemed unacceptable by Old Trafford officials.

Despite considering remaining at Old Trafford the lure of joining the Spanish giants looks like proving too much for De Gea, with him also attracted by the prospect of moving back to his home city where his girlfriend resides.

But after flying out to he US for the club’s pre-season tour yesterday, De Gea knows he may have to stick it out for one more year at United when he can leave on a free transfer.

United want Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas included in any deal for De Gea but Real are opposed to such a move, leaving both clubs in a stalemate.

Real Madrid have already let Iker Casillas leave to Portuguese side FC Porto and Keylor Navas is out with a training injury until December according to reports.

Real Madrid will be now in a tricky situation as they do not have any recognised goalkeepers until January.

Los Blancos will have too look for other options if Red Devils are too stubborn to let De Gea leave.

Bernd Leno and Kiko Casilla are the other goalkeeping options for whom the Spanish giants might go for.

De Gea was set to leave Old Traffor for a move to Santiago Bernabeu but due to Real’s urgent needs to sign a goalkeeper, his dream move might not happen if Real Madrid opts to sign another goalkeeper.
