Revealed: 36.2 m pounds Arsenal target will move to London
Finally some good news for Chelsea as PSG star striker Edinson Cavani is all set to join the Blues at the end of this season.
Edinson Cavani who has been a long time target of Arsenal has recently revealed that he has no plans of continuing with the Ligue 1 giants and he might possibly land up in joining Chelsea next summer, reports, Fichajes.
The Uruguayan international Cavani’s contract with PSG does not run out until 2018, but it is believed that he is not happy at the club. In the past few years, several times the star forward had mentioned that he was not happy at the club, as he is being played out of position.
PSG manager Laurent Blanc usually prefers Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the front man and Cavani operates from the flanks. Cavani’s natural position is at the center. Due to change in his natural role, it was reported that the striker felt out of place at the club.
Although, Blanc had mentioned this summer that Edinson Cavani was an integral part of his squad, when Arsenal had enquired about his availability, Cavani might opt to move out if he gets an opportunity.
Defending champions Chelsea FC are currently struggling at the bottom half of the league table at the 15th position. They are very close to the relegation zone and have secured just 11 points from 10 matches.
Manager Jose Mourinho is running the risk of losing his job if Chelsea loses against Liverpool this weekend. Brazilian born, Spanish striker Diego Costa have failed to live up to the expectation as he has remained ineffective so far in the season.
It will be interesting to see if Edinson Cavani actually joins Chelsea next summer. Even if he joins how effective will he be at the club will be another question as the striker will a year older next summer.
