FA Cup: Arsenal vs Sunderland XI – Many surprises from Arsenal, No Ozil, No Ramsey
Arsenal welcome Sunderland in their third round FA Cup fixture tonight as the Gunners hope to extend their winning run in the cup competition to 13.
The north Londoners have won this tournament in two consecutive years. Arsenal are right now top of the Premier League, two points ahead of Leicester City, and everyone is saying that Wenger’s men have bigger fish to fry than exerting the team further in the cup, with a hand full of absentees. Arsenal are now without six first team members, with Mikel Arteta finally returning to first team contention after being sidelined for almost two months with a calf injury that he sustained in November.
On the other hand, Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland are currently languishing in the 19th position and desperate for a win in their league fixture against Swansea City in midweek in order to close the gap as the team just above the relegation zone.
Here is the Starting line-up for both Arsenal and Sunderland.
Arsenal Starting Line-up:
Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Gibbs, Chamber, Iwobi, Walcott, Campbell, Giroud
Macey, Debuchy, Arteta, Ramsey, Monreal, Adelaide, Willock
Sunderland Starting Line-up:
Pickford, van Aanholt, Cattermole, O’Shea (c), Lens, Graham, Toivonen, Coates, Fletcher, Yedlin, Watmore
Mannone, Jones, Borini, Defoe, M’Vila, Mavrias, Beadling.
