This time last year, Liverpool were set to make an official announcement to appoint Jurgen Klopp as their new manager.
Fast forward 365 days and the German is celebrating his first anniversary at Anfield.
It’s been a whirlwind 12 months on Merseyside for Klopp as he’s led them to two cup finals without success and a disappointing eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.
But, after stamping his authority on the side during the summer’s transfer window, Liverpool now look a force under Klopp this season and are being tipped to challenge for the title after their impressive start.
While the Reds appear to be in a much better situation today than they were one year ago, there’s been plenty of highs and lows during Klopp’s reign to get to this point.
Despite no silverware to show for his hard work, there has certainly been plenty of brilliant results for Liverpool over the past year.
So, what’s been Klopp’s favourite moment since he took over on October 8, 2015?
“Yeah, Dortmund,” he said when asked to name his favourite moment
“The last half an hour – it was not too bad.”
Klopp is, of course, talking about when Liverpool beat his former side, Borussia Dortmund, 4-3 at Anfield in the Europa League quarter-final.
After a 1-1 draw in the first-leg in Germany, Klopp’s side were facing elimination after just nine minutes when Dortmund went 2-0 up.
If it wasn’t game over then, it surely was when Marco Reus made it 3-1 with half an hour remaining meaning Liverpool had to score three goals without reply.
Cue another incredible European night at Anfield as Philippe Coutinho made it 3-2 with 25 minutes remaining.
Mamadou Sakho headed in from a corner with 13 minutes left to set up a grandstand finish before Dejan Lovren scored an injury-time winner to send Liverpool through to the last-four.
Unfortunately for Klopp and Liverpool, they will always look back at that match against Dortmund with a tint of sadness after they eventually ended up losing the final against Seville after beating Villarreal in the last-four.
The German boss will be hoping he can add more memorable moments in the coming years as he attempts to take Liverpool to the next level.
