The UEFA Europa League 2015/16 draw took place today, 28th August. 48 teams had qualified for the main round of the tournament and they were divided into 12 groups, with each having 4 teams. Liverpool and Tottenham were the only teams from the Premier League among the 48 teams in this season’s Europa League.
Liverpool FC fans will share mixed reaction as they have been drawn in the Group B alongside Rubin Kazan, Liverpool FC, FCBordeaux, FC Sion. While the group looks pretty decent from a Liverpool fan’s perspective, the only problem is that the team will have to travel to Russia for an away game against Rubin Kazan. Russia is generally considered to be a very tough away venue for visiting the team in Europe.

Tottenham Hotspur have been placed in Group J alongside Belgian giants Anderlecht and French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. It is a tricky group and Spurs will have to be cautious in their approach.
Group A can be safely termed as the group of death in this season’s UEFA Europa League. Dutch giants Ajax, Scottish champions Celtic and Turkish side Fenerbahce have been all placed in the same group. Fenerbahce have made two big signings this summer as they bought Robin van Persie and Nani from Manchester United. This is going to be the most interesting group of the tournament.
Some other notable teams in this season Europa League are Borussia Dortmund in Group C, Napoli in Group D and Spanish Super Cup winners Athletic Bilbao in Group L.
