Revealed: Liverpool’s goal of the season so far, Klopp has surprise!!

After eight Premier League matches, Liverpool has already scored an impressive 18 goals.

Jurgen Klopp’s side put four past Arsenal on the opening weekend on the season before doing the same to champions Leicester at Anfield.

While most clubs have a main goalscorer which they rely on to score 25+ league goals, it seems that Liverpool has numerous players that can score regularly, rather than one prolific forward.

That’s epitomized by the fact that Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane all have three goals each, while James Milner has bagged four.

But what has been Liverpool’s best goal this season?

Coutinho’s incredible free-kick against Arsenal? Is Mane superb individual strike against the same opponents? Coutinho’s 25-yard screamer against Hull?

Well, none of the above, actually.

That’s according to Klopp himself who has opted for another goal altogether – Firmino’s opener against Leicester.

“For me, the (Firmino) goal against Leicester was the goal of the season so far. Because when you have this kind of movement, and you work so hard in training on it, and it comes off,” he said.

While Firmino’s touch and finish are delightful, anyone with football knowledge will recognize Daniel Sturridge’s contribution without touching the ball. The striker made the run creates space for his Brazilian teammate, taking two Leicester players with him – something that really pleased his boss.

“Especially for a striker who in the public view isn’t scoring enough, to make this run out of the box to take the two centre-halves out and open everything up, that is a sign of development,” he said of Sturridge’s involvement.

Klopp will be hoping that he has plenty more strikes to choose from in the coming weeks and months when selecting his Liverpool goal of the season.

With Liverpool sitting in fourth, the German manager will be wanting the Reds to build on their decent start to the campaign as they look to win their first league title since 1990.
