Louis Van Gaal has received a direct tip from the Manchester United superstar Robin Van Persie on who should be United’s first Summer Signing. Van Persie sees fellow Dutchman Memphis Depay as the ideal Summer Signing for Manchester United.
Van Gaal has worked with Depay during Netherland’s 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign where the mercurial winger scored 2 goals in 4 appearances. It’s npt just Van Gaal who has a liking for Depay, United striker Van Persie is a big fan of Depay’s skill and temprament. Speaking on Depay, Van Persie had this t say about the PSV and Holland winger:
“What I like about Memphis is that he picks things up so quickly,”
“What he is doing is very mature for his age. It’s a childhood dream [playing for his country at the World Cup]. We do click well and I really love his beautiful style of play.”
Such approval coming directly from Robin Van Persie will tempt Van Gaal in making a bid for the player whom he likes very much as well. Van Gaal gave Depay his International debut during the 2014 World Cup. Depay is currently valued at £10 Million.
As per the reports from BBC Van Gaal has made Depay as his top target for the Summer Transfer Window. Depay is eyed as the “Dutch Cristiano Ronaldo” and has enjoyed a succesful season with PSV, scoring 16 goals in 21 appearances.
There are a host of clubs who are after Depay’s signature but Van Gaal’s close relationship with Depay might prove to be the decisive factor in bringing the £10 Million rated player to Old Trafford next summer.
Depay’s national manager Guss Hiddink has likened the winger to Arjen Robben and says Depay can learn from the Bayern Munich man and be as gooad as him, if not better. Depay is currently the leading goal-scorer in the Eridivise and a move to United would be the next step in Depay’s career.
