Brendon Rodgers was spotted outside the Vatican City in Rome as reports emreged of the Liverpool manager holding urgent talks with Roma’s £25m rated Miralem Pjanic over the possible summer switch at Anfield.

Everyone was left in wait and surprise as Rodgers took an early night after Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Spurs on Tuesday. Liverpool assitant manager Colin Pascoe was left in charge of Liverpool’s post-match interview and Pascoe revealed how Rodgers had an urgent flight to board to address important club duties.

Press Association earlier today revealed how Brendan Rodgers visited Rome, he did not attend Roma’s game but instead he was working behind the scenes to lay the ground work for Pjanic’s summer move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are looking to replace Steven Gerrard as the current Liverpool skipper announced his decision quit his boyhood club at the end of this season. That leaves Rodgers with an almost impossible task of replacing Gerrard. That quest has taken Rodgers to Rome where he is eying a move for £25 Million rated Pjanic. 

Taking some time out from his transfer hunt, Rodgers visited the ever so famous Catholic Church building. Rodgers seemed to be in a good mood as he accepted the selfie request from one of the fans.

Seeing the big smile on Rodgers’ face one can only think that his trip to Rome was a successful one and Liverpool fans can soon be welcoming the talented Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers will be back in time to take charge of his team on the sidelines for Liverpool 5th round clash against Crystal Palace.
