With 500 goals already to his name, the ‘commander’ from Portugal aims to add another 500 to his tally before he hangs his boots and bids goodbye to the game that he loves!

On Monday night Ronaldo saw his nemesis pick up his 5th Ballon d’Or, and in that light has set a beastly target for himself which only he can possibly achieve. Set to turn 31 next month Ronaldo considers himself ‘a big kid’ who has a lot left to give to the game. The Madrid winger has several records to his name, from beating Raul and DI Stefano to become the highest goal scorer in the history of his club to scoring a whopping 500 goals in his career until now, and now he aims to set the bar even higher with aiming to notch a career goal scoring tally comprising of 4 figures!

The man knows that it will be challenge but anyone who knows Cristiano Ronaldo knows how the ex Manchester United wonder boy relishes a good challenge. “I hope I’ll score another 500 goals but it’s tough. I got there (to 500 goals) during my seventh season here. Obviously it was all with the help of my team-mates” said the 3 time Ballon d’Or winner talking about the importance of team effort and how the team comes before everything.

Furthermore when asked about what drives him and whether his aim is to break these records, the star replied that “All the records are always an extra, the icing on the cake. It’s always good to be at the top of the records. When arrived at Real Madrid I never dreamed of breaking Di Stefano’s records, or Raul’s – all those legends you know?”
