Arsenal’s star forward Alexis Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty but is unlikely to return to London. The Chilean FA might include him in the squad for their next game against Uruguay on Tuesday.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fears the same and has taken a dig at the Chilean FA. If he is included in the squad for the clash against Uruguay the injury may become worse which is a concern for the London club as they have crucial fixtures ahead.
Arsene also hailed the eagerness of the player to play every match even when he is injured. Wenger also feels that health of the player comes ahead of everything.
Arsene was quoted: “I got a text last night (to say) that he has a hamstring injury. The team from Chile has traveled without him and they kept him to try and get him fit to play Uruguay for the second game on Tuesday night.”
“I believe that with a hamstring injury. We have to get access for our medical staff to the MRI scan to see what grade it is, how bad it is and make absolutely sure they don’t make any suicidal decision that could harm his future for two or three months.”
“That is absolutely important. It’s a grey area between the national team and the club team and of course they look at their own results which I can understand but we have to preserve the health of Alexis Sanchez.”
“He always wants to play and that’s where it is a more sensitive case because he’s always ready to play even when injured.”
Arsenal have their next match against the Red Devils on 19th of November and Wenger would be keen to get maximum points from this fixture. The Arsenal boss is desperate for Sanchez to return to London for treatment as he is a top player and would be required in this kind of crucial fixtures that could well decide Arsenal’s fate.
