Must Watch: Sanchez Produces Bizarre And Most Pointless Skill Against Stoke City 1

While he might not have scored, Alexis Sanchez was once again brilliant for Arsenal against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.

Deployed in the striker role ahead of Olivier Giroud, the Chilean terrorised Stoke’s defence with his pace, skill and creativity throughout his 78-minute stint.

It was his defence-splitting pass that found Hector Bellerin with time and space for the first goal, the Spanish full-back finding Theo Walcott with a driven cross.

And with 15 minutes remaining, Sanchez ran at Stoke’s defence and inadvertently found Alex Iwobi, who scored Arsenal’s third goal to wrap up a comfortable victory.

One moment in the second half encapsulated Sanchez’s confidence at the moment.

In the video below, with Bruno Martins Indi to beat inside the 18-yard box, Sanchez attempted to fool the Stoke defender with an audacious piece of skill.

However, what was meant to be a moment of magic ended up being the most pointless piece of skill ever, with Sanchez quite literally getting nowhere.

Brilliant. You can hardly blame Sanchez for trying such a difficult skill given his recent form.

Everything the Chilean touches is turning to gold, with his hat-trick against West Ham at the Olympic Stadium last weekend case in point.

For his first goal, Sanchez performed a brilliant turn outside of the 18-yard box to beat a defender before firing past Darren Randolph from a tight angle.

And for his third, where the 27-year-old was through one-on-one with Randolph, he performed a reverse step-over before lifting the ball over the Irishman.

Arsenal won that match 5-1 and they were once again in fine goalscoring form
