Shocker: EPL giants ready to spend 80 million pounds to sign Hazard
Premier League giants Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard for a whopping £80 million in this transfer window.
This comes as a shocker and good make headlines big time in this January transfer window as the transfer fee is huge. Cityzens who are known for their flamboyance in the transfer window are ready to bid for the Belgian star according to British media outlet The Sun.
Eden Hazard joined Chelsea FC in 2012 from Ligue 1 side Lille for £32 million. In the last three and half season at Stamford Bridge Hazard has grown up to be a big star and is regarded by many as the one of the finest players among the modern set of players. Hazard played a vital role in Chelsea’s double delight last season and the then Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho even went to the extent of comparing him with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Unfortunately, Hazard saw a sudden dip in form in this season which affected Chelsea heavily. The superstar winger is yet to score a goal for the London outift as half of the season has already passed.
Hazard’s loss of form stimulated speculation among media and it was reported several times that Chelsea might get rid of their star in the transfer window. La Liga and European giants Real Madrid were favorites to sign the star. Madrid giants have been targetting the Belgian since a long time who could replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the long run. Later it was heard that Paris Saint-Germain too are keen on signing the player and bring him back to the French league.
The recent ground breaking rumours which are circulating in Europe suggest that Manchester City are now keen to rival giants like Real Madrid and PSG to lure the services of Chelsea’s biggest star.
The Cityzens had spent loads of money in the last transfer window bringing in Raheem Sterling from Liverpool and Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg. The duo costed them more £100 million. After a very busy summer window it is unlikely for the Manchester club to spend further in January. This fact itself rubbished this rumour completely.
Also Chelsea are slowly gaining momentum under new manager Guus Hiddink and are reviving from their sorry state. They are eyeing a possible top 10 finish or maybe higher in the league table by the end of the season. Selling Eden Hazard at this point of time would downright stupidity on their part.
Thus, eventhough, the transfer rumour will definitely stir the market heavily, we really do not think that such a transfer would ever materialize.
