Shocking Allegation: Manchester United Star Claims Mourinho Is Keen To Drive Him Out 1

Anthony Martial believes Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to drive him out of Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mirror.

Martial, who signed for the Red Devils in 2015 from Monaco in a deal worth £58million, has endured a frustrating season under Mourinho.

The winger has seen his first-team prospects diminish and has been forced to adopt a role from the bench. On some occasions Mourinho opted to omit him from the squad altogether.

The Portuguese boss recently hit out at ‘mentally weak’ players at the club and, according to the Mirror, Martial felt the jibe was aimed directly at him.Shocking Allegation: Manchester United Star Claims Mourinho Is Keen To Drive Him Out 2

With the 21-year-old’s future in Manchester far from clear, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are said to be monitoring the situation ahead of a possible move.

Martial started out at Lyon and could see a return to France as the perfect opportunity to revitalise his career.

Mourinho made Anthony Martial a promise last week ahead of their game against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round.

“If he plays magnificent, he will play against Hull City in the next match,” Mourinho said. “It’s simple”.

Martial assisted two goals in the 4-0 win over Wigan and made the most of the opportunity, just as the 21-year-old was told to do. Then, when Hull came to town three days later, he was overlooked.

Manchester United’s manager didn’t say he wanted a good performance against Wigan on Sunday.

Mourinho wanted a ‘magnificent’ one and it was him telling Martial the only way he would use him against Hull was if he blew his socks off. He didn’t.

Martial ended up an unused substitute in Wednesday’s dull 0-0 draw.

As it turns out, it is Mourinho who isn’t giving him the chance, because it’s tough to score again and again when you aren’t in the squad, let alone the team.

Mourinho instead went with Marcus Rashford, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan against Hull, then brought on Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney in the second half.

It is natural, then, that Martial is feeling frustrated.
