Shocking: Cazorla snubs every current teammates except one in his all-time Arsenal XI

Santi Cazorla is one of the first names on Arsene Wenger’s team sheet these days.

Two goals and two assists already this term represents a solid start to the campaign from one of Arsenal’s most technically gifted central midfielders.

The Spaniard has been at the club for four years now and despite not ending the fans’ wait for a Premier League title, remains a popular favourite at the Emirates.

So Arsenal supporters will be intrigued to see who Cazorla named in his best all-time Gunners XI.

In a video for Unscripted, the 31-year-old revealed which stars from the past and present – but mainly from the past – he rates the most.

You can see the full XI in the video below as Cazorla snubbed many of his current teammates for those who were part of the Invincible side from 2004. Here are a few of the most interesting selection choices.

Cazorla currently plays with one of the best goalkeepers ever to grace the Premier League in Petr Cech but still went for ex-England international David Seaman to play between the sticks.

Seaman did win three domestic titles as well as four FA Cup’s during his time at the club so you can certainly see where Cazorla is coming from.

Right-back was definitely one of the most surprising choices the Spaniard made as he went for Bacary Sagna.

Sagna, who now plays for Manchester City, was always a threat going forwards but was also occasionally exposed defensively at the Emirates.

To say he’s better than Lee Dixon or even Hector Bellerin right now might be a bit generous.

From the current squad, only Mesut Ozil is able to find a spot in Cazorla’s team as part of a four-man midfield which also includes Patrick Vieira, Gilberto Silva, and Robert Pires.

Picking the two strikers was possibly the easiest decision the Spaniard had to make with Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry leading the line.

It does just go to show how far away Arsenal’s current side are from the greats of old when just one player can get into an all-time XI.

However, Saturday’s convincing 3-0 win over Chelsea has brought fresh optimism to north London and should they end their title drought this season, there is every chance a few more current stars could break into Cazorla’s team if you ask him again next May.
