Shocking: Everton Midfielder Confirms He Wants To Join Man United

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye admits that he used to dream of playing for Manchester United but is more than happy at Goodison Park, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The 27-year-old started the season in superb form after emerging as a shining light in a hopeless Aston Villa side in the previous campaign, with his tenacity and ball winning ability drawing comparisons with Leicester City’s title-winning talisman N’Golo Kante.
And although his form has cooled in recent weeks due to a slight loss of form and a number of injury issues, the smart money could be on Gueye being in the eye line of some of the top Premier League clubs due to a lack of top class defensive scrappers available in the market at the moment.
However, Gueye insists that he is more than happy to stay at Everton for the foreseeable future, although he admits that he used to dream about succeeding the likes of Roy Keane and Paul Scholes in the Old Trafford engine room.
“Obviously [dreaming of playing for United] is something I said at the time,” the former Lille enforcer told the Liverpool Echo.
“Here I’m an Everton player and I’m happy to be that. It’s a big club that suits me a well and my goal here is to give the very best I can to this club to help them achieve the highest levels.
“For example, the top five is the same expectations that United would have, and we can progress that way.”
With Morgan Schneiderlin (below) apparently not high in the plans of Jose Mourinho, and Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini lacking the ball winning abilities to play that so-called ‘Makelele role’ in the United midfield, Gueye would perhaps prove to be an astute signing one day.
However, that is unlikely to be anytime soon.
