Manchester United and Jose Mourinho looked like a match that could win everything in England this season, especially with the amount of money spent on top class players in the summer.
The likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly were all expected to make Mourinho’s time at the club a comfortable one but with just 14 points from 9 games he and his side are struggling in the league early this season.
However, the struggles on the field are not the only issue for the Portuguese manager who has now revealed that his time in Manchester has not been the best.
The former Chelsea man is yet to buy a house in the city and is currently living in the top floor suite of Manchester’s Lowry Hotel while his family is still in London.
So it does not come as a surprise that Mourinho is greeted with fans every time he steps out of the hotel room at any time of the day.
Speaking to Sky reporters recently, Jose Mourinho revealed that he does not like the attention that he is getting at his new club and insisted that his life is currently a disaster.
“For me, it’s a bit of a disaster because I want sometimes to walk a little bit and I can’t. I just want to cross the bridge and go to a restaurant. I can’t, so it is really bad.”
He was also asked if he is planning to buy a house in Manchester but Mourinho revealed that his family are now settled in London and that he does not want to uproot his wife and his two siblings who are comfortable in the capital city.
Asked about the house, Mourinho said, “Buy a house? I do not know, I do not know. The reality is that my daughter will be 20 next week, my son will be 17 in a couple of months.” “They are very stable. University in London. Football in London. Friends.”
“So they are in an age where they can’t chase me like they did before. So for the first time, the family lives in a different way. We try to feel it, we try to see the evolution of our feelings and see how we cope with the situation,” he added.
He went on to explain that he has not been able to move freely in the city and revealed that he has used mobile apps to get food delivered.
“I have my apps and I can ask for food to also be delivered, which I do sometimes,” he said.
However, Mourinho felt that it was good for the fans that they know everything about the club and went on to say that it is an amazing feeling being in such a position.
“You know the history of the paparazzi, for the hotel and the brand that sponsors me, the clothes brand, is amazing because they are there every day,” he said.
“Everybody knows the name of the hotel! Everybody knows the last arrivals of that brand! So for them, it is amazing,” he added.
