Shocking: Jurgen Klopp Watches Hollywood Movie To Prepare For Merseyside Derby

It’s getting ever closer to that time of year on Merseyside – derby day.
With Liverpool mounting a convincing title challenge and Everton emerging from a recent slump, it has all the makings of a competitive and entertaining clash. That is, after all, what we’ve come to expect over the years.
In addition, there can be little doubting that the introduction of Jurgen Klopp has done nothing to quell the entertainment factor. Besides, the man himself has spent all week getting his team and himself, firmly in the zone.
While Monday night’s game has the potential to produce an infinite number of outcomes, Liverpool must be seen as favourites.
The Reds have been scoring goals for fun all season and are second only to Chelsea in the Premier League pecking order. Considering Klopp inherited a side lingering in mid-table, it’s been quite the rise this year.
Moreover, Everton haven’t overcome their city rivals since a 2-0 win in October 2010 when Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta graced the scoresheet. The Toffees have amassed a fair share of draws, yet victories have been distinctly lacking.
Recently, their absence of wins hasn’t just been a problem against Liverpool. In fact, their 2-1 defeat of Arsenal proved their first collection of three points since October.
Consequently, not only are Ronald Koeman’s men up against the wall ahead of Monday, but they have a lot to prove.
Despite the favourable circumstances though, Klopp hasn’t been taking anything for granted. After all, the German is preparing so much that he’s even trying to pump himself up for the game.
So, how does one of the Premier League’s most hyperactive managers enhance his energy levels even further? A good movie, apparently.
According to the Mirror, Klopp gave an insight into his preparation by stating: “I watched the film Creed to experience Goodison! I’ve never been to Goodison, but I know it is a good place, and I’m really looking forward to it.
“I really like Rocky, and (in Creed), even though the favourite was from Liverpool I had sympathy with the other guy!
“It’s a very, very, very, very big game. The good thing around the derby is that I don’t need to say a lot, just that it’s very special to be the first time at Goodison.”
The only qualms Liverpool fans can have is that Klopp enjoyed a movie in which an Everton supporter plays such a large role. Besides, current WBC cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew stars no less.
However, it’s fair to say the Kop won’t complain if their German gaffer secures three points under the Goodison Park floodlights on Monday.
Even if the Anfield side aren’t firing though, as long as Klopp is going out of his way to get pumped, then at least they’ll be fireworks of some sort. After all, for Liverpool, it’s not how hard they can hit, but how hard they can get hit and keep moving forward.
