It’s no secret when it comes to how well Marcus Rashford is doing at Manchester United.
He’s made his name at a remarkable pace after breaking into the first team last season and is now a surefire starter at Old Trafford. He’s hit goal after goal and has proven himself as one of United’s – and England’s – hottest prospects. And he’s still only 18.
Marcus Rashford has scored 12 goals in his first 25 games for United, the same record Wayne Rooney had at that stage https://t.co/h6YBVKAao9

But as Wayne Rooney looks to be losing his place in United’s first team, after a series of below-par showings, a series of incredible statistics showing just how similar the two have performed after their respective United debuts have popped up, courtesy of the Mail.
Rooney signed from Everton in 2004, aged 18. He went on to make his United debut at the same age, but scored his first Premier League goal against Arsenal before he joined. Rashford’s first Premier League goal also came against the Gunners.
Their United debuts came in European competition. And both scored – Rooney with a hat-trick against Fenerbahce – while Rashford bagged a brace against FC Midtjylland back in February.
Both players even racked up 12 goals in their first 25 appearances. It’s getting a little scary, but Rashford ensured that strike rate with his tap in against Leicester City at the weekend. He was instrumental as United smashed four in the first half to put the champions to the sword, and while they’re completely different players, both have proven to be scary propositions in their teenage years.
He may be getting some stick now, but if Rashford can emulate Rooney’s career at United, he won’t have done half bad.
Meanwhile, the youngster is set for a swift return to the England senior team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.
According to the Daily Mail, England manager, Sam Allardyce is set to recall the young striker after his strong start to the season.
Allardyce is desperate for further depth up front with first choice striker Harry Kane ruled out with an ankle injury.
Rashford continued his remarkable early-career run, debuting for the England under-21s earlier this month and scoring a hat-trick as England defeated Norway.
Under-21s manager Gareth Southgate appeared likely to have Rashford in his team for upcoming U21 Euro 2017 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Bosnia, with a win in either game ensuring qualification for the tournament next summer.
If the form is anything to go by, Rashford will not just be making up the numbers in the England squad with the 18-year-old scoring more goals than both Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy so far this season.
