Shocking!! TV Pundit Accidentally Reveals Chelsea Are Front Runners For Star Southampton man

Antonio Conte’s top of the table Chelsea are in a decent position to go all the way this season and the manager is trying to make sure that he has all the ingredients that can take them to a tile this campaign.

They have been by far the busiest club in the Premier League in this January transfer window and with the deadline not too far away, stories have been coming in at a rapid pace.

In a story published by the Express today, TV pundit Jamie Redknapp has hinted that Chelsea might be in pole position to sign one of the in-form defenders in the Premier League.

Southampton’s Virgil van Djik, is fast growing into a strong contender for the best defender in the English domestic league and is attracting interests from all around the country.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are all interested in his signature but Southampton have managed to keep him at the club atleast till the end of the season.

However, the Dutch international is expected to spark a bidding war in the summer and Redknapp may have revealed that Chelsea are the front runners for his signature.

Speaking about the Blues’ chances of signing Celtic star Mousa Dembele this January, Redknapp felt that the striker was better of playing in the Scottish league till the end of the season and wanted him to enjoy his time this campaign.

He said, “Is it a good time for him to go to Chelsea? Maybe not, because he’s doing so well at Celtic.”

Adding to it, the pundit felt that the Stamford Bridge outfit must speak to the player and get a first refusal clause to decide where he goes in the future.

“Go and enjoy, win the league there, but maybe what Chelsea should do is get the first refusal, be the team where he goes next.,” he added.

He went on and revealed that Chelsea have a similar agreement with the Dutch defender at the St Marys.

“I can see that happening because they did it with Van Dijk, but at the moment for his development I think he’s better off staying at Celtic, but in time what a great move that would be,” he revealed.

If this is true, it will come as a huge blow for most of the major teams who are desperate for his signature.

Van Dijk will make Chelsea even stronger and his signature can take Chelsea to a whole new level. Do you think the Southampton man will move to the Bridge in the summer?
