The retired Manchester United coach and the most celebrated managerial icon, Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as the best manager in the Premier League this season, claims Tottenham MP David Lammy. Tottenham has been the surprise package of this season, who were potential candidates for a Europa spot, are now in the run for the Premier League glory.
Apart from the praises and applause receiving from all ends, Pochettino has gained himself a new admirer in the form of legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, according to David Lammy.
“I’m going to let you into a secret,” Lammy told the world through The Spurs Show. “About six weeks ago, I sat next to Sir Alex Ferguson at a dinner in support of grassroots football abroad. “He said to me, ‘I think you guys have got the best manager in the Premier League’. Alex Ferguson said that.”
Tottenham are currently second in the Premier League and are five points short of the league top spot, and has been the most consistent side this season.
The claims have fuelled the rumours surrounding the Tottenham manager, who as reported is tracked by Manchester United, who are supposed to part ways with Louis Van Gaal at the end of the season, if not before.
However, a bunch of other renowned managers are also in contention for one of the highly rated managerial seat in the world, including Jose Mourinho. Since the arch-rivals of Manchester United and their neighbours Manchester City is all set to land Pep Guardiola next summer, Manchester United is adamant to bring quality and entertainment as that of Pep’s brand of football, which the club believes LVG might not able to provide.
Tottenham has been flying high with just three defeats from 25 Premier League matches. They have also conceded just 19 times, making them the best shut-out defence in the league.
