Tammy Abraham has been a revelation on loan at Bristol City this season, but knows that he may have to leave Chelsea to fulfil his potential.
The young lad has hinted that he may have to leave Chelsea to further his development as a footballer.
The 19-year-old has scored 12 goals in 20 games on loan at Championship side Bristol City, impressing many with his form in the second tier of English football.
Chelsea hold the England under-21 striker in high regard and believe him to be one of the finest young prospects to emerge from their youth system.
But Abraham understands that his current form in the Championship will not guarantee him game time when he returns to Stamford Bridge, and that he may have to move away from the club if he wants to achieve the career targets that he has set himself.
Speaking to the Mirror, Abraham said: “In three years I want to be playing at the top level, at whichever team I’m at. I just want to be one of the best in the Premier League, scoring goals.
“I’m not too surprised with how it’s gone this season because I know my ability and I’m confident in what I can do.
“Scoring goals is what I love and it gives me that confidence every time I hit the net.”
Whatever course of action he chooses to take next summer, Abraham’s goalscoring exploits for Lee Johnson’s side will ensure that plenty of clubs will be interested in signing him.
And a situation like that may well arise. It is well known that Chelsea have somewhat disregarded youth in the past, and Antonio Conte will have to alter this policy if he is to keep Abraham on the books at the Blues.
