It is that time of the year in England when London outfit Arsenal start to lose their track in the domestic season and this season has been no different. Having dropped 5 points in the last 3 games, Arsenal are currently in a mini-slump and will have to take all three points from their trip to the Bridge this weekend.
The Gunners have seen a slight dip in form in some of their star players but Wenger will be frustrated that his team has yet again been hit by injuries this winter.
With as many as 5 players out injured for the next week, Arsenal, are a bit weak in an important part of the season. And if reports today are to be believed, it will only get worse for the manager.
Arsene Wenger, who did not spend in January, has been looking to get his first team players to sign a new contract with the likes of Hector Bellerin, Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker all putting pen to paper.
But one player that is yet to sign a contract extension at the club is German playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Though out of form in the last couple of weeks, Ozil, is the lynchpin for Arsenal in attack and Wenger will need him to be at his best if his side are to compete for silverware for the rest of the season.
However, a report from the Mirror claims that Spanish giants Barcelona are readying a bid for the star in the summer.
The 28-year old has less than 18 months left on his contract at the moment and Wenger is desperate to sign him for the long term.
He is Arsenal’s current highest earner on £180,000-a-week and the club are hopeful he will commit to a new deal. But the German wants in excess of £250,000-a-week and also wants Arsene Wenger to stay put before signing a contract.

This miscommunication is what has seen Luis Enrique’s side join the hunt for his signature.
It is understood that Real Madrid has the first refusal on the player and that Bayern Munich are also interested but reports today suggest that Barcelona has already opened talks with the player and are confident of landing him if Wenger leaves the Emirates at the end of the season.
Arsenal are not ready to sell and will have talks with the player at the end of the season but if Ozil does not sign a new contract before the start of the summer transfer window, Barcelona, have more than a decent chance of landing him.
Do you think Barcelona can get Ozil this summer?
