Manchester United are looking at a change in management and squad just two years after signing Louis van Gaal and it will be interesting to see who the next manager is and the team he will acquire at Old Trafford.
This has given rise to a number of players linked for a move into and away the club in recent times and star mid-fielder Juan Mata is the subject of a transfer speculation this week.
Manchester United star Juan Mata is reportedly high on the wish list for Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid as the manger is looking to strengthen his squad significantly this summer.
Fichajes.net have now reported that the Spanish outfit are set to open talks with Manchester United over a possible move for the 27 year old after the end of this season.
The Spanish international has been in and out of the team at Old Trafford since his move to the club from Chelsea more than two seasons ago. But with an overhaul definitely on the cards, it looks like Mata is set to return to Spain next season.
Earlier in the month, the mid-fielder was also linked severely to a move to Barcelona this summer but it is now understood that Diego Simeone’s side are in pole position to snatch the 27-year old from Manchester United next season.
It is also understood that the Spanish side is confident of landing the player who cost United 37 million in 2014. However, a fee is still to be agreed between both parties.
With Barca also on the radar, it will be interesting to see what Atletico Madrid will do to gain an upper hand.
