Confirmed: Speedstar snubs Manchester United because of BORING van Gaal
Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt has long maintained, of course with a pinch of salt, he will one day play for Manchester United. It was supposed to fulfil the most treasured dream for the six-time Olympic gold medallist, but now United boss Louis van Gaal’s boring dull tactics have actually forced him to stay off the idea, for the time being.
In 2012, just after lighting up the London Olympics, Bolt apparently made a joke about getting himself a trial at Manchester United, at that time Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
“People think I am joking, but if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, ‘OK let’s do this, come and have a trial’, it would be impossible for me to say no,” he said when giving an interview at that time.
“I would not take up the challenge if I didn’t think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference. I would be the fastest player in the team – but I can play as well.”
Even last November also, more than a year into van Gaal’s regime, Usain Bolt was still optimistic about making his dream a reality.
“I think if I do a trial then they would say, ‘You know what, here is a contract for five years! You are 30 years old, here’s a five-year contract. Let’s just do it!” he told the reporters.
But after seeing his favourite team ultimately lose their way in December and also playing some of the dullest football that most of the United fans have ever thought of, even the Red Devils celebrity fan Bolt has now lost his patience and previous appetite to don the famous shirt at Old Trafford.
When speaking to reporters this week at the Jamaican Sportsman of the Year, he said, “Well, looking at how Van Gaal is, I don’t think I would ever want to be coached by him so I think I will put that on pause until we get a new coach.”
The Dutch manager’s tactics have come under severe criticism in recent months despite the recent win against Liverpool, with fans and pundits all accusing that United are too boring and slow, and it’s time for the Jamaican sprint star to come into the act. What Bolt has said, is definitely a disgrace for Louis van Gaal.
