It is still a dream come true for many Liverpool fans seeing Jurgen Klopp in the home side dug out in every game at Anfield.
Klopp took over Liverpool in August and has since been able to change the mind-set of the squad but the weaknesses in the team that the previous manager has left are still to be strengthened and the January transfer window gives Klopp his first opportunity to trim and shape the squad to his liking.
Joe Allen the so called Welsh Xavi has not been able to find a regular place under Jurgen Klopp and is seemingly on his way out of Anfield. It is reported that Liverpool have now rebuffed an enquiry from Swansea City for the mid-fielder.
The £15 million rated Welsh international is on the transfer list for Swansea but the Merseyside outfit has now made it clear that the 25-year old is not going anywhere till the end of the season.
Allen who scored a late equalizer against Arsenal at Anfield recently has had 7 starts this season and only one in the Premier League.
Asked about contract talks, Allen said: “That is something which has gone very quiet.
“I am not too sure really. I have made only one league start this season and I want to play more, I think that is obvious for any player in that situation.
“From my point of view it is about knuckling down, doing my job and giving my best, which I always do.”
Allen who will enter his final year of the contract next season has admitted that his long-term future at the club is uncertain and it now looks like he is out of his way from the club unless he makes great progress in the minimal chances he gets.
Swansea are expected to bid for the mid-fielder in any case to hope and open up a chance for a possible move this January but are in pole position to land him in the summer if the clubs decides to let the mid-fielder go.
Do you think Joe Allen deserves more chances at Liverpool?
