The January transfer window is half way through and teams all around Europe are getting ready for last minute deals.
Recent reports suggest that Bundesliga outfit Schalke want star Manchester United defender to move to Germany this summer.
Schalke 04 have reportedly identified Argentine defender and Manchester United star Marcos Rojo as they top transfer target this January.
Rojo, who joined the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon for £16 million in the summer of 2014, has not been able to establish himself in the current squad and is currently out injured with a reoccurring dislocated shoulder.
The Argentine was seen in the away stands at Anfield for the match against Liverpool and is now heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
He has also been linked with Real Madrid as a back up for Marcelo but German newspaper Bild has now reported that Schalke have joined the race for his signature.
Schalke head coach Andre Breitenreiter believes Rojo is the perfect candidate to replace Howedes, and the Schalke boss has not been put off of a move by the 25-year-old’s injuries.
However, the German outfit also have a back up in mind if the deal for the Argentine fall through. Scalke have recognized Dynamo Kyiv’s Alexandre Dragovic as a target. Ironically Dragovic has been linked with a move to Manchester Untied.
With the likes of Luke Shaw and Daley Blind in the side for the spot, Rojo may not be able to steal a place in the starting XI and might want to leave the club in the summer if not in January.
