Strongest starting XI of top European Clubs: Manchester United Football Club
After Alex Fergueson left, Mancester United have not been able to lift a trophy, but this season Louis van Gaal looks set to break the draught. He has one of the best squads in Europe right now. A fourth place finish like last season will not be enough for the club of this stature and van Gaal will want to be fighting for the title.
With less than 10 days to go for the new season, we will take a look at the best XI that the manager can field in the first match of the game.
One of the most important player last season for the club, David de Gea is in the middle of a transfer saga with Real Madrid. But the rumors are starting to cool down and it looks like he will still be the No.1 at the club in the new season. Sergio Romero is the one that will be pushing De Gea for his place in the team. Phil Jones will have his place in the centre back position and will be partnered by Daley Blind or Jonny Evans.
The new buy Matteo Darmian will compete for his position with Marcos Rojo and Rafael and Luke Shaw on the flanks. Van Gaal played a large part of the last season with three at the back. In that case, Jones will be in between Blind and Evans or Shaw.
Bastian Schweinsteiger, the big name arrival this season will take the mid-field responsibilities for the club in front of Michael Carrick who had a terrific previous season. Scneiderlin will have to fight for his spot with Ander Herrera and Januzaj in the middle. A 3-5-2 formation may see Carrick play in the middle with Schweinsteiger alongside him in middle of the park.
Antonio Valencia and Asley Young played on the wings last season and had good success. They will provide enough attacking options for the club and will help them outscore opponents in tough games.
Juan Mata and Fellaini were the stand out players last season for United and Van Gaal will want both of them to step up even in the next season. Wayne Rooney will occupy the striker’s role and Mata with Fellaini or Memphis Depay can play just behind them with Schweinsteiger providing support from the back.
Javier Hernandez may find it hard to get into the team with a lot depth and will have to prove himself in cup games if and when he gets a chance. Angel di Maria is close to leaving the club but United have a good squad and will be aiming huge this season.
The manager of the club will have huge plans to bring back the glory days. He has a squad capable of acheiving it and a good start will be important for them. They have some great stars and their bench is one of the strongest in the Premier League. They will need all the help needed when the fixtures come thick and fast in the middle of the season. Do follow us and find out all you need to know about your favorite club before they start their journey on the 8th of August.
