Former Liverpool star striker Luis Suarez claims that he left the Merseyside club for Barcelona because of the British media. The Uruguayan International joined Barcelona for a reported amount of £75m despite being banned by FIFA for four months.
The striker have earned lot of plaudits by earning Golden Boot in Europe for 2013-14 which he shared with Ronaldo despite being banned for 6 games at the start of premier league for his biting scandal against Branislav Ivanovic.
The player was one of the main reasons for the Reds to have one of the greatest seasons in their recent history as they came so close to win their first premier league title. The Reds eventually sold the striker to Catalan giants when he again bit Chiellini in world cup which saw him banned from football for four months.
However, the Uruguayan despite his long crimes during his spell at Liverpool says, “I don’t know if the English press have a campaign against me, but it looks like they miss me. They criticised me a lot, looking for things that weren’t there and calling attention to them.”
“They published images of me (tussling with Martin Demichelis) in the morning and when they saw that it was false, the images suddenly disappeared. They talk too much and they didn’t leave me in peace and I left because I was tired of them but they continue looking for something.”
The striker has so far added 13 goals to his tally in the current campaign and is peaking at the right time for the European powerhouse Barcelona.
