In a bizarre incident, Malmo’s Mohamed Buya Turay sent his brother to his wedding as a replacement. Apparently the striker had to miss his own wedding due to professional reasons. He then sent his brother to fill out his void at the ceremony.

However, this is not the first time Buya Turay has made the headlines due to some terrible stunt. The striker was also in the news after his horrible claims of black magic some few years back. Buya Turay only recently joined Malmo from Chinese Super League side Henan Songshan Longmen.

As much as the incident has shocked the fans, Buya Turay later clarified the whole confusion. Buya Turay signed for Malmo on July 22, whereas his wedding was slated for July 21. However, his new team wanted him earlier in order to join the group training. As a result, Buya Turay had to miss his wedding with long time his girlfriend Suad Baydoun and send his brother.

However, Turay shared pictures from his wedding with Baydoun on the social media which only added to the confusion. Later the striker himself explained, “We got married on July 21 in Sierra Leone. But I wasn’t there because Malmö asked me to come here earlier. We took the pictures in advance. So it looks like I was there but I wasn’t. My brother had to represent me at the wedding itself. But I will try to get her to Sweden and Malmö now so she can be close to me. She will live here with me,” Turay told Afton Bladet.

While Turay hasn’t been with his wife since their marriage, he did make his debut for Malmo in their Europa League qualifying game. The striker made a substitute appearances in the Swedish side’s 3-0 win over Diddeleng.

On the other hand, few years back as well Turay made some bizarre revelations in the media. The striker had sustained an injury while on international duty with Sierra Leone and claimed that it was due to some ‘black magic’. While talking to BBC, he had said:

“The native doctor told me the cause of the toe injury was because I stepped on a spiritual object in Leone Stars camp, put there for me by a person who wanted me to get elephantiasis thereby destroying my career. She further told me that if I had gone to the hospital for treatment or had used conventional medicine to try and heal the toe that would have ended my career.”

The Malmo striker will now be hoping of getting back to his wife amidst a busy schedule with the club.
