Paul Pogba, who was linked heavily with a move to FC Barcelona has revealed there are some things he can’t say when asked about his current situation at Manchester United.
Paul Pogba was linked heavily with Spanish club FC Barcelona.
Manchester United kicked-off the English Premier League with a 2-1 win over Leicester City. Paul Pogba, who led the team for the first time in the Premier League scored the opening goal via penalty for Jose Mourinho’s men.
Pogba claimed Manchester United had no confirmed penalty taker against Leicester City. Also, he said he is prepared to let Alexis Sanchez take the club’s next one after winning an argument with the Chilean.
However, in less than two minutes in the game, United was awarded a penalty, and Paul Pogba made no mistake to make it 1-0.
However, he still feels unhappy at the Old Trafford. And his latest interview after the match against Leicester City has proved it once again. Pogba told reporters,
“There are things I can say, and there are things that I cannot say. Otherwise, I will get fined. When people trust you and have confidence then you are good in your own head, it’s going to be easier. I’ll always give my best to the fans and my team-mates no matter what’s going on.”
The move for the 25-year old was on the cards during the 2018 summer transfer window. Both Barcelona and Juventus were eager to sign him. But Mourinho didn’t want to sell the France midfielder at any cost.
Though, Pogba’s relationship with Mourinho is turning in the wrong way. It all started when Mourinho dropped Paul Pogba on more than one occasion last season, including for a Champions League knockout tie against Sevilla.
But now it seems Mourinho is trying to improve the relationship with him. The France midfielder was given time off after helping his country lift the FIFA World Cup 2018 in France. Though, Mourinho still decided to name him as captain for the Premier League opener at Old Trafford.
