According to a statement released from Mourinho’s representatives, CAA Sports and Polaris Sports, the Portuguese manager has no regrets being sacked and will not leave London right now. It is also reported that some senior members in the Chelsea dressing room already knew there will be a big change in the club this season.
Senior members of the Chelsea dressing-room had been predicting from the start of the season that a major change at Stamford Bridge was quite imminent and it was actually based on Mourinho’s mood, from the beginning of this disastrous campaign.
According to Daily Star, an influential Chelsea senior player had been informing friends: “Jose is not the same person this season.
“We don’t know what has happened, but he’s different and there is a different mood about the place, including in training.”
But the recently axed Portuguese manager made it clear today that he hasn’t fallen out of love with the game despite the current situation and doesn’t want to take a long break from football.
His representatives, CAA Sports and Polaris Sports, released a statement which said: “Jose is pleased that he returned to Chelsea, because he was able to give the fans another Premier League title, which they had not won for many years.
“He is immensely proud of his eight trophies at Chelsea and thanks the fans for their support throughout his two spells at the club.
“During his career, Jose has sometimes chosen to leave a club – but only at Chelsea has the club decided that he should leave.
“Each time represents for him the end of a cycle – and the opportunity to start a new one. Jose hopes that his future after Chelsea this time will be as successful as when he left the club in 2007.
“He will not be taking a sabbatical, he isn’t tired, he doesn’t need it. He is very positive and is already looking forward.
“Because of his love for football, you will see Jose at football grounds, working and supporting friends. He will not be attending any high-profile games because he wants to discourage any speculation about his future.
“Jose will remain living in London and hopes he and his family will be given the opportunity to do this privately. Jose will not speak about his current situation for the foreseeable future. He asks the media to respect this decision.”
Chelsea’s startling slump just after winning the Premier League title last term led to the self-styled Special One being sacked two days ago.
However, the Blues hierarchy claims Mourinho agreed to a mutual parting as they told him the club have decided that he should leave “in the best interests of the club.”
Former manager Guus Hiddink has now taken charge at Stamford Bridge as interim manager until the end of this season. Club owner Abramovich also keeping a close eye on Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone.
Next summer there will be a permanent appointment, with Bayern boss Guardiola a possible candidate.
As for Jose Mourinho, his genuine love for Premier League suggests his next destination could be in England while Manchester United, a favourable stop.
