Liverpool’s disastrous form this season continued as they lost 3-0 against Wolves on Saturday. With just one point from their previous four league games, Jurgen Klopp’s side is currently sat tenth in the Premier League, 11 points off the top four. The Reds are just not able to catch a break to turnaround their season which has been in turmoil. They have already lost ten times this season in all competitions, with 7 of those defeats coming in the league.

Liverpool are also out from the two domestic cup competitions of FA Cup and Carabao Cup at early stages despite being the defending champions. However, the one stat which has caught the fans by surprise is that Liverpool have now gone over five hours without a goal since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal against Brentford on January 2. And the bizarre stat is that their top scorer in that time is not Mohamed Salah or club record signing Darwin Nunez, but Leicester City’s Wout Faes!

Fans in hysterics as Faes emerges Liverpool’s topscorer post World Cup break

Since football resumed following the World Cup break, Liverpool have scored only six goals overall in across their ten games in all competitions. Virgil van Dijk, Stefan Bajcetic, Mohamed Salah, and Oxlade-Chamberlain are the players with a goal each for the Reds. It follows that Leicester defender Wout Faes, who scored two own goals in the game at Anfield in late December, is actually the Liverpool’s leading scorer throughout that span.

The Belgian was sculpture of his side’s downfall as despite taking the lead in the fourth minute, Leicester had to face a defeat, thanks to two own goals from Faes. However, since that win, Liverpool haven’t won a game in the league, losing three and drawing one. Moreover, they have managed only one win in ten games in all competition since Faes helped to a triumph at Anfield. Here’s how fans reacted after getting to know this absurd fact
