Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has fired a timely reminder to Jude Bellingham after he completed a move to the Spanish giants. The Los Blancos confirmed the signing on Wednesday (June 14), making the midfielder England’s most expensive player.

Bellingham, who will turn 20 this month, moves to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund. After starting his career in England and impressing at Birmingham City, he moved to Germany and plied his trade for Dortmund for three seasons. He enjoyed an impressive spell in Germany too and was named Bundesliga Player of the Year in the most recent campaign.

Toni Kroos warns Jude Bellingham:

As Bellingham will be eyeing a bright start to his Real Madrid career, he has received a valuable piece of advice from club star Toni Kroos. The German midfielder reminded Bellingham how Eden Hazard “let his career die” at Bernabeu after sealing a big-money transfer from Chelsea.

Hazard joined Real Madrid in 2019 after a highly successful spell at Chelsea but failed to make the same impact for the La Liga giants. He managed to score only seven goals and 12 assists in 76 appearances before being released by the club after the conclusion of the 2022-23. In his last season with Real, he managed to play only 10 matches, contributing one goal and two assists.

“We had another player (Hazard) who came for a lot of money and basically let his career die,” Kroos said on his podcast Einfach mal Luppen while discussing Bellingham’s transfer.

“It was a lot of money, I think everyone would say that wasn’t a good transfer. But let’s be positive.”

“He is a top player that many teams wanted because of the mix between quality and age that he meets. If Real Madrid paid so much, I hope it will be a very good signing for us. If he does as well as at Dortmund, he can be said to be a good addition,” added the German.
