2015 has witnessed goal bonanza from the strikers. It has been a bittersweet tale for the goal scorers as some broke records while the others had a disappointing score sheet. Premier League until now has seen many underrated players shine marvelously this time. Goals win you matches and rightly so the strikers do their duty of netting a few. We’ve seen several strikers bang ultimate goals this season. As we bid adieu to this year, here’s a list of the top 5 strikers of EPL in 2015.
1) Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)
Jamie Vardy’s life journey has been a tale from rags to riches. It’s brilliant to see a player who once worked in a factory is now dominating at the top of the English football league system. Vardy became a hero at Leicester City after his back to back goal galore. His fame multiplied when he scored for an 11th consecutive Premier League match to break former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record. The Englishman has netted 15 goals until now and has been on fire. This keeps him on the top of the best strikers this year.
2) Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)
Fan favourite Olivier Giroud comes second on the list of top five strikers of the EPL in this year. The France international has a pass success rate of 70%. Having scored 10 goals in 13 games, Giroud never fails to impress. Giroud hasn’t been a regular starter this season, yet the 29-year-old has managed to score well. His strengths include aerial duels, key passing and finishing. The Frenchman is consistent in his performance and is a key player for the Gunners.
3) Romelu Lukaku (Everton)
Lukaku stands third in the list of the best 5 strikers of the league in 2015. The Everton striker has 15 goals to his name in a total of 19 games. Describing his style of play, Lukaku is a sort of player who is not really involved in tackles but dribbles the ball well. He prefers doing lay-offs and as mentioned earlier, dribbling happens to be one of his strengths. Lukaku has already stood out as a star striker in EPL and is sure to achieve greater heights.
4) Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
Coming from a slow start to the season, Kane made sure to end the draught and keep scoring non-stop. With 11 goals in 19 games, Kane has lived up to his designation of a key striker at the club. At the age of 22, Kane is indeed a gem of a player for the London club as well as the England national team. He therefore comes fourth on our list.
5) Odion Ighalo (Watford)
The Nigerian has been totally unstoppable! With a terrific run of 14 goals in 18 games, Ighalo has evolved as a miraculous player this year. He has proven to be a sensational aspect at Watford and never fails to score. His dribbling has been exceptional and finishes brilliantly. This keeps him on the fifth spot of our top 5 strikers.
