With half a season gone, the Premier League world has seen some of the best attacking performances in England in the last 7 months. So here’s a look at the best strikers in the Barclays Premier League at present.

5. Robin van Persie –

Though the Dutchman has been sidelined due to injury for a major part of the season, but Manchester United’s leading scorer last season has been in goals whenever he has been fully fit and in the side. Injuries might be a negative but his lethal finishing is still at its deadliest. As they say, form is temporary, class if forever but in Van Persie’s case it can be said that ‘Injuries are temporary, Class is forever’.

4. Wayne Rooney –

The Manchester United forward is still England’s top hope in terms of any World Cup glory ambitions later this year and he is also the best hope for the Red Devil’s for any slight ambitions for finishing in the top-4 this season too. The versatile forward has been playing in a lot of positions and putting above-par performances throughout this season for the Red Devils. Though Manchester United linger down in the mid-table slot at present, there can be no complaints from anyone regarding Wayne Rooney’s 110% dedication towards his contributions.

3. Daniel Sturridge –

Nearing 30 goals in the past 13 months for the Merseysiders, Daniel Sturridge has been nothing short of exceptional ever since his move away from Stanford Bridge. Liverpool are the 2nd highest goal scoring team this season, only behind Manchester City and a large chunk of that achievement is due to the heroics of this Englishman. Liverpool’s quest for the top-4 spot will depend largely on the availability and the form of Daniel Sturridge as much as anything else.

2. Sergio Aguero –

Having already surpassed the magical count of over a 100 goals in all competitions this season, Manchester City have been nothing short of scary infront of goal. Thought the credit for this goes to the entire attacking frontline but the major contribution has to be credited to this Argentine. The former Atletico Madrid man has been brutally devastating in terms of his conversion rate and barring his injury worries, he has always scored in almost every league game that he’s played in.

1. Luis Suarez –

Words betray you when we try to describe this Uruguayan’s brilliance this season. Even after missing the initial few games due to suspension, he has surpassed almost every goal-scoring record that was possibly in his grasp in this half season of extraordinary devastation. He might even topple the record of the highest goals scored in a premier league season and is on-course to scoring at least 35 goals this season or maybe if he continues this form, even more.
