Already seen by many as the biggest star in the coming years, Mbappe has left the world gasping for breath with his stunning show in this year’s FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
He shot to limelight after starring for the youth academy at Bondy before gaining a move to Monaco, where Mbappe made his professional debut in 2015, aged 16.
In the 2016-17 season, he quickly established himself as a regular goalscorer in the first team, helping the club win their first Ligue 1 title in seventeen years.
In the following year, he signed up for Paris Saint-Germain for €180 million, making him the most expensive teenager, and the world’s second-most expensive player. He justified the decision by playing a key role for the team, as they captured a domestic treble of Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Coupe de la Ligue. Overall, Mbappe scored 21 goals across competitions.
But it was his performance in this year’s World Cup that made him one of the most sought-after players in the world.
