Simon Mignolet
Simon Mignolet is likely to make a move out of Anfield this summer.

With the addition of Allison Becker at Anfield, Simon Mignolet is now thinking of a way to get out of the English club, Liverpool. And shockingly, he is now highly linked with Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

Simon Mignolet is heavily linked with the Spanish club.

The 30-year old was already expected to be on the move this summer after slipping out of favour under Jurgen Klopp. It has been suggested that La Liga giants, Barcelona are among those prepared to open talks. And, according to reports, they are ready for the departure of their current backup, Jasper Cillessen.

Mignolet would have been hoping to find regular starting berths away from Merseyside. But he is ruling nothing out at this stage. His representative is exploring all options and is looking to set up the departure for him from Liverpool.

Nico Vaesen told Belgian news outlet Walfoot,

“It doesn’t change the situation [Alisson’s arrival]. Our goal is to find a solution for Simon to play and Alisson’s arrival doesn’t change that. We know that a player of €60-70million won’t find himself on the bench. We are looking at the situation and looking for a solution to his playing time. There are options; the next few days will be decisive.”

Allison Becker

Mignolet admitted while away on international duty at Russia 2018 that he would weigh up a summer switch.

“I didn’t play in the last few months at Liverpool, so after the World Cup, I will look at everything. I can’t say much more.”

He is now ready to press ahead with those plans after making 200 appearances for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Alisson Becker will be his first-choice goalkeeper for the 2018-19 season.

And, he also confirmed  Loris Karius would have another opportunity to prove his worth at Anfield. With that, it ends the career of Mignolet in Liverpool.
