Wenger wants to bring back Szczesny at Arsenal from his loan spell with Roma as a backup for Petr Cech, according to Daily Mirror.

Wojciech Szczesny has been informed he still has a strong future at the Emirates.

Szczesny right now is serving a season-long loan at Serie A side Romaand they are apparently interested to sign a goalkeeper this summer.

But Arsenal, despite including a permanent clause in the loan deal, have contacted Roma to inform they want him back next summer.

Wenger’s first choice Petr Cech has already proved his worth himself as Arsenal’s new No1 but his deputy Colombian shotstopper David Ospina is not happy to with such a little playing time. Last month he even gave a hint that he might leave Arsenal. It was reported, he wants to join Besiktas, after the out of favour keeper liked several tweets from his fans requesting him to join the Turkish club.

Ospina overthrowed Wojciech Szcesny to become the no. 1 goalkeeper for Arsenal last season, but has now fallen back as the reserve keeper behind Petr Cech, who joined the Gunners for £11m  from Chelsea in the summer.

It is now understood Szczesny might return as the No2 and still have a chance to regain his form at Arsenal despite being loaned out only months after being dropped from the team for allegedly smoking in the showers at Southampton last term.

Roma are now ready to bring in Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson from Internacional when the season ends, which clearly hints Szczesny will return to Arsenal.

The Polish keeper has enjoyed a pretty impressive year at Romatill now. The loan move looks like was a good one for him to rediscover his form. However, some of the Gunners teammates still like him back at the Emirates. Recently Mertesacker said in an interview: Wojciech wants to compete. I think he’s a good goalkeeper and he can still develop. The team wants him back – that’s good for him. He’s shown great character already in this team and I think he has got a bright future.”

Szczesny himself, till now hasn’t given any hint about his return to Arsenal. Two days ago the keeper even said he wants to win the Scudetto with Roma who are recently dropped to 5th position in the Serie A.
