Transfer Window 2017 For Manchester United: Ins and Outs in Full

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United were one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League in the January transfer window as the manager was looking to add a few players to the squad to improve the league position.

Mourinho spent insane amounts of money in the summer to improve his squad but was evidently unhappy with the options at his disposal come this January.

This has seen him jump into the winter transfer window for some additions and he was extensively linked with a number of star players sine the start of the month.

Though he was not able to make a big name signing this January, the Red Devils have been busy in the transfer market and here are all the ins and outs from the club this January:

In:

None

The Red Devils were linked with a number of star players including the likes of Goncalo Guedes, Nelsen Semedo, Victor Lindelof and Seamus Coleman right till the end of the transfer window.

But Jose Mourinho was adamant to not spend big on players who do not fit the profile at the squad and decided to pass the deadline without spending a penny on incoming transfers this January.

Out:

Sam Johnstone – Aston Villa – Loan

The 23-year old is expected to replace Sergio Romero in the squad after the end of the season and Jose Mourinho wanted him to get some gametime under his belt for the rest of the season.

Though yet to feature for the senior side at the Old Trafford, Johnstone is highly rated and has completed a move to play for Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side in the championship till the end of the current campaign. (Source)

Morgan Schneiderlin – Everton – £20m rising to £24m

Joe Riley – Sheffield United – Loan

The 20-year-old has impressed this term, usually as an attacking left-back and Mourinho wants him to find some extra gamtime this season away from the club.

Memphis Depay – Lyon – £16m rising to £21.7m

The Dutch international will remain as one of the most disappointing players for Manchester United but at his age, he is still in for a sparkling career.

He has now ended his Old Trafford stint and has completed a permanent switch to Lyon for a price of £16m that could rise further. He is now on a contract that is more lucrative than the one he had in Manchester. (Source)

Sean Goss – QPR – £500,000

The young midfielder is touted as the next best thing at the club and was touted as the next best thing at the club bit Mourinho was having none of it and has now sold him.

The youngster has now completed a permanent switch to Championship outfit QPR and is expected to play a decent role in the side’s chance of glory this season. (Source)
