Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has revealed that he is keen to carry on with the Spanish giants after their thrilling 4-2 away win against German club Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The 25-year old have been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United over the last few weeks as the Red Devils are keen to add the talented forward to their roster in the summer.
Reports also suggested that he has agreed personal terms with Manchester United for a move in summer, although it also depends on whether the club could make it to Champions League next season under Jose Mourinho.
But after scoring a goal against Leverkusen, Griezmann has become the all-time highest goalscorer for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The Los RojoBlancos will now look to win the two-legged knockout game when the sides meet in March at Madrid.
‘We knew it was going to be a tough game,’ the 25-year-old told Spanish TV.
‘We wanted to win, we did that and the return leg will be difficult as tonight was.
‘I’m proud to become part of Atletico’s history with my goal and hopefully, I can carry on making history here.
‘They pressured us and made life difficult, but the boss’s changes helped us win the game.
‘We have a big game to play now in front of our own fans.’
The Frenchman has been in terrific form since joining Atletico Madrid and is considered as one of the best central forwards in the world who has drawn interest from a host of clubs across Europe including Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich to name a few.
However, he has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since Paul Pogba made a move back to United and with the club set for another big spending summer, the transfer could be on the cards once again in summer.
