Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Aaron Ramsey, but they face some serious challenge from Manchester United also as Jose Mourinho still looking for reinforcements in United midfield.
Sky Sports claim the City hierarchy have not given up their pursuit of the Arsenal star. The 25-year-old has two years left to run on his current deal at the Emirates.
And the Gunners are said to be in no rush to sell the Welshman, who they reportedly value at a cool £50million.
Since his debut for the club, ‘Rambo’ as he is affectionately known around the Emirates has gone on to make more than 250 appearances for the Gunners and is fondly remembered for his 2014 FA Cup final winner.
When considering the Premier League’s best performer at Euro 2016, there was little point in looking beyond Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey.
Although Wales midfield partner Joe Allen and West Ham’s Dimitri Payet might have accompanied him into UEFA’s official team of the tournament, Ramsey dazzled — and not just because of the peroxide blonde hairstyle he adopted for France, a look so strong that Lionel Messi appears to have copied it.
For Wales, Ramsey was dynamic, creative and selfless. After he received a booking against Belgium in the quarterfinals that kept him out of the semifinal, he did not allow his head to drop. He kept on inspiring in the historic 3-1 win that was achieved in Lille.
It was a sight that should have heartened Arsenal fans and manager Arsene Wenger.
Although Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale remained his nation’s undoubted star, Ramsey showed why, as a youngster at Cardiff City, he was expected to be just as good as Bale, who at 27 is two years older.
