Television presenter Melissa Satta has slammed online trolls who accused her of distracting tennis player Matteo Berrettini, after doing so to her ex-husband and former Barcelona ace Kevin-Prince Boateng. The 37-year-old has had enough of strangers online criticising her for the tennis pro’s and the football star’s injury woes.

It comes after Berrettini is set to miss the Italian Open after missing the Madrid Open due to a muscle rupture. However, it is Satta who has come under fire from fans. It’s all too familiar territory for the TV host, who was accused of having “too much sex” with Kevin-Prince Boateng, causing the former Barcelona striker physical problems.

Satta opens up on injury woes of Berrettini and ex-Barcelona star Kevin-Prince Boateng

Satta made her new relationship with Berrettini public at the beginning of the year, but she has received unusual backlash from followers. A former Maxim model, Satta, 37, as previously married to ex-Barcelona footballer Kevin Prince-Boateng. The couple, who have a kid named Maddox, were married from 2016 until 2020 before divorcing. Satta was accused of having ‘too much sex’ with Boateng, which she denied, and her relationship with Berrettini is now being slammed.

Opening up on the abuse se received through online trolls, Satta told Vanity Fair:

“It was something that had been going on for months, when our story became known in January: [They say] Berrettini doesn’t win because Satta is distracting him, she’s too demanding… But I held back. I’m not the one who denounces everything on social media. I have broad shoulders on the judgments.

“The headline of a newspaper: ‘Melissa Satta brings bad luck,’ after the match at the Montecarlo tournament in which Matteo won, but after which he stopped due to the injury. How can you write something like this? It’s not ethical. Once, with my ex-husband ( Kevin Prince Boateng) who suffered from pubalgia. Even there they attacked me saying that we had too much sex and that was the cause of his physical problems from him

“[The injury Berrettini has] is an injury in the same place as the one in 2021, when I didn’t know him. But in any case – do I really have to answer to these people? The proof that sexism has existed and still exists: it is always women who distract men, and if it is a woman who loses, then it is what she eats, not a man.”

“I cannot conceive how a relationship can allow you not to do your job, but people talk. We live in the era of social media, where everyone can say anything and it seems to me as if general education has been lost. In the end, however, I am happy, this is what matters.”

Berrettini, the former world No. 6, has dropped in the rankings and is currently on a tennis break. He attended the Met Gala without Satta on Monday, but her social media activity has her tagged in a number of other New York City events. Berrettini, who finished second at Wimbledon in 2021, donned an all-black tuxedo suit with a bow tie designed by Boss, one of his sponsors. The Italian has not played since suffering an injury in the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters.

Meanwhile, Boateng is still playing for Hertha Berlin at the age of 36. He formerly played for some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs, including Barcelona, Dortmund, and AC Milan. The former Ghana international played in the Premier League as well for Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth. So far in his career, Boateng has made over 500 appearances across over a dozen club, scored 76 goals, provided 56 assists and won 5 trophies.
