Liverpool defender gave a dismal performance for Liverpool yesterday as the Reds was defeated 3-0 at Anfield by West Ham United. The Croatian international moved to Anfield from Southampton last season becoming Liverpool’s most expensive defender ever and could never impress the fans with his poor defensive play.
But Liverpool fans took it to another level after yesterday’s humiliating loss giving death threats to the stopper on Instagram and the 26-year-old had to deactivate his Instagram account after getting singled out by fans for the disastrous display.
It should be noted that prior to the West Ham match, Lovren had been one of Liverpool’s best performers in the opening weeks of the season. However one shoddy showing was all it took for fans to start abusing their own again, and in response Lovren has shut down his Instagram account.
