Chelsea’s new signing Alexandre Pato seems to have irked fans from both rival clubs and also from his new club. Some fans jumped in with epic banters and others looked a bit confused whether Chelsea needs the Brazilian striker.
Chelsea turned their sight to the former AC Milan striker to solve the persistent striker problems and have completed a loan deal for the rest of the season after his work permit hearing on Friday. Chelsea will have to pay the entirety of the 26-year-old forward’s wages, said to be only around £30,000 per week, over the short loan period. Pato, after completing the signing admitted it’s a dream to join the Premier League champions.
A temporary switch from Corinthians makes sense for the 26-year-old striker who has seen a lot of ups and downs in his career so far.
With the expectations remaining low, a loan spell to Stamford Bridge gives the former AC Milan forward the opportunity to prove he’s worthy of a permanent move to Chelsea, or at least put himself in the transfer window to other potential bidders from Premier League at the end of this season.
As soon as the news came that Chelsea have signed Pato, twitter reacted hilariously as football fans with their epic banters started to rule the social media platform.
Pato!? Do we even need him

There was a time where Eto’o, Pato, Falcao and Torres would all have been dream signings. Somehow we’ve had all 4 not in their peak

Just seen that the Pato deal has gone through for Chelsea as well. If it was 2008 I’d be jealous. Don’t really see that one working out #afc

If chelsea sell remy and leave pato and falcao as the only back ups to costa, that’d be the most self destructive action in the world.

Excited to see Pato perform. I hope he can get to that 99 overall that was expected from him a few years ago :O

Really looking forward to Pato filling in for Remy though, Costa doesn’t last a whole 90, probably won’t last the whole season either
