Liverpool travelled to Manchester to face in-form Manchester City at Etihad tonight and came back with a brilliant 4-1 scoreline in their favour. The Cityzens, who have been the best team in the League this season so far, have been humiliated badly by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team. The Reds outplayed them in every possible department and the scoreline could have been worse if Joe Hart was not in an inspirational form tonight.
Klopp’s geggenpressing football is getting fruits at Anfield as the Reds chased every ball and covered every blade of grass on the pitch and hit their opponents on the counter. Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala scored against his own side after a brilliant attack by the Reds.
Two Brazilians for Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino were on song as well as they created each other’s goal. Coutinho, who loves to score against City, scored his fourth goal against the same side in the last five fixtures.
It was also his fourth goal in his last three games. Firmino scored the third Liverpool goals after assisting both of the former goals. It was his best display so far in Liverpool shirt since signing for Liverpool.
Sergio Aguero, whose return to action, was the highlighting topic of the game, showed his presence with a brilliant individual goal just ahead of the half-time whistle but City could never come back into the game. Liverpool stayed strong defensively and got the fourth goal of them from the feet of their leader in defence, Martin Skrtel who scored with a brilliant strike.
The win by Liverpool have made Manchester United fans happy as well as they are in a good position in the table thanks to the hammering of City.

Liverpool had 41.3 per cent possession today. Proof that possession stats are the most pointless stats in football…
