North London outfit Arsenal welcomed one of their fierce rivals Chelsea to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon, as they looked to take back all three points from the game and extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners were keen to secure all three points at home as they went up against Guus Hiddink’s side, who were slowly recovering after a dreadful start to the current campaign under former boss Jose Mourinho. With both sides looking quite keen to win the match, things did not go according to plan for the hosts and manager Arsene Wenger looked quite furious as usual with things happening around him. Center-back Per Mertesacker was sent off for a late challenge on Diego Costa, as the Spaniard ran away with the ball beyond the back-line and was stopped illegally. The tall German defender went for an earlier shower for his sliding tackle, as the Blues’ striker made things worse with a goal on the 23rd minute to give his side the lead.
The ten men of Arsenal fought hard to get something out of the game, as they pushed forward on numerous occasions but to no avail. The game ended in a 1-0 win to the visitors, which saw the hosts drop to third place in the points table, while the Blues climbed up to 13.
Here are how the fans of both clubs reacted on Twitter after this result, which would have been a great boost for Chelsea as they once again triumphed against their London rivals:
That was my favourite game this season by a country mile. The away fans outside afterwards was something else. #proudtobeblue #Chelsea

Everything’s changing. The world’s in a flux. Global warming. A black POTUS. So why is #Chelsea still getting the better of #Arsenal? Smdh.
