Tottenham Hotspur brought Roberto Soldado in 2013 for £26 million from Valencia.
A lot were expected from the Spanish international when he joined Spurs but the lethal striker in La Liga could not live upto the expectations from him and failed miserably with scoring only 16 times from 76 games for the London side in all competitions.
Now the 31 year old is set to return to his homeland with Villareal expecting to change his fortunes but the Spurs fans did not bid him a proper good bye. Instead, they chose to troll the player mercilessly on Twitter.
Here are some tweets which the player unfortunately had to face:
So it’s true Soldado has left. Might of been shit but he was our shit. Adios Bobby Soldier. #HeComeFromSunnySpain

Soldado will be missed, just like his last penalty.

I imagine Soldado used to be the one who brought cake to training and now everyone is going to be like “oh no they’ve let cake guy go!”.

Soldado about to board a flight to Villareal. Every chance he’ll miss it. *Last chance to get that joke in, lads

Watching Soldado was like watching #TrueDetectiveSeason2. Every Monday I would be saying ‘It’ll get better next week’ #THFC

It’s not even 10am yet and the news is that Soldado is leaving and my A Level results are good. Can this day get any better?
