India showed great character and resilience to get a 2-1 victory over Afghanistan.
Trivandrum Stadium got a rejuvenated Indian Football team as they defeated the defending champions Afghanisthan. Stephen Constantine’s boys conceded a goal in the 71th minute as Zubayr Amiri scored for Afghanistan. In the very next minute, Jeje Lalpekhlua struck for India to equalise the score.
Indian captain Sunil Chetri scored in the 10th minute of extra time to hand India a sweet revenge on the Afghans as the Afghans defeated India in 2013 SAFF final. SaffSuzuki Cup 2015 will not go anywhere but India.
