Twitter reacts to Diego Costa’s red card and biting incident in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Everton in the FA Cup
It was a crucial FA Cup tie between west London outfit Chelsea, who faced off against Everton at Goodison Park. The two teams were not doing really well in the Premier
League, but were hoping to advance to the semi-finals of the competition.
The first half did not produce any goals, though there were quite a few chances to score. Both sides went into the break, hoping to take advantage in the second. With more than an hour of football played, the break eventually came in the 77th minute when former Blues’striker Romelu Lukaku ran around Guus Hiddink’s side’s back-line to put one past Courtois.
Five minutes later he added a second to double his side’s lead and settle the tie, with the visitors set to crash out of the tournament. Things did not improve as Diego Costa was sent off for a second booking and there was some footage which showed that he could have been possibly involved in a biting incident with the Toffees’ Gareth Barry.
It brought back memories of the Luiz Suarez case, which saw the ex Liverpool man who is now with European champs Barcelona serve a 10 match ban. Here is a look at the incident:

It has not been confirmed yet whether he actually bit the former England international or not, as there no real reaction from him and the English FA will now have to look into the whole
matter and eventually provide a verdict. Ironically, Barry himself was sent off for a second offence a few minutes later, as the game ended 2-0 and saw the Dutch manager’s side
eventually get knocked out.
