Liverpool and Manchester United failed to justify the hype surrounding their clash as they played out a dull goalless game at Anfield on Monday.
Liverpool, who would have drawn level on points with leaders Manchester City with a fifth successive Premier League victory, were denied to play their flawless game that has characterized them in this season. Jose Mourinho’s tactics kept the Reds at bay as they struggled to create clear-cut chances despite having 65 percent of the possession.
On the other hand, Manchester United was brilliant defensively but failed to build any substantial attack. They should thank David de Gea for coming out with a point as he made two brilliant saves in the second half to keep the Red Devils in the game. Meanwhile, United’s 35 percent possession will worry Mourinho. It is their lowest in the league since Opta began recording the data in 2003-04.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the goalless draw:
I'm currently pairing my socks. I was watching #LIVMUN but this has been infinitely more entertaining.

This game's so boring I've started on the washing-up. We have a dishwasher.

Mourinho is something else. In less than 5 months as Utd boss he's successfully turned Zlatan into Kelvin Davies and Pogba into Kevin Nolan
